Liquid Silicone Waterproof Pouch Mold

Phone waterproof pouches and sealed storage bags are large thin-wall parts. The mold focus is balanced filling, sealing lip molding and repeatable waterproof performance.

Design Highlights

• Large thin-wall area: long flow path; use multi-point or fan gating to balance pressure and avoid short shots at the end;
• Sealing lip: the pouch-mouth sealing lip is the key functional face and must be molded with high precision to ensure no leakage after closing;
• Runner design: cold runner with needle valves to control fill speed and shot size for large parts;
• Venting: vent grooves or inserts at ends and corners to prevent trapped air forming thin-wall tears;
• Ejection: balanced ejection for large flat parts to avoid deformation.

Process and Criteria

Mold temperature 170~200C; cure fully to avoid long-term deformation. Use a whole-pouch hydrostatic or negative-pressure test (IP rating) as the outgoing criterion.

Common Defects

• End short shot or tear: unbalanced filling;
• Sealing lip deformation: ejection or uneven cooling;
• Bubbles: insufficient venting.
